I use AndGuard Pro w/ IP Tables. It blocks all those fake/hijacked sites and whatnot. And again common sense is your best defense. If you fall for those "Your device is infected, download this to protect it!" scams then there's no defense for that.

I agree. If you download a security update from a company you don't know for an app that you don't have, well....you can't fix stupid. There's no app for that.

I hear Android 5 (JellyBean) includes some kind of in-built malware protection.
