WaveSecure

Hi guys and gals

Anyone use WaveSecure?

Is it worth it or does it drain battery etc?

Thank you as always for your help x

Great App, I switched to it back in Jan and it's been exactly what they say it is.
No battery drain here.

great app, won't drain your battery. Download it, set it all up, then forget about it until you need to use it.

oh yes, and are there any charges?
YES. WaveSecure is based in Singapore so every time you send a command to your phone (track, lock, etc.) it charges you 20 cents for an international text message (NOT included in unlimited text plans.)

Luckily I figured this out early and use Mobile Defense instead. Mobile Defense doesn't let you wipe/backup data like WaveSecure, but you can track and lock remotely, as well as install it as a system app so it is not visible and not uninstallable from the phone

Hi,
Just wanted to clarify that WaveSecure doesn't charges you for the incoming text message but your operator or carrier. In fact, it costs us money to send text messages.

That said, there is no need to use the web to track your phone unless you lost it. By that time, we feel $0.20 is a small price to pay to increase the chance of recovering your phone.

In fact, you can perform all the functions like backup, restore, lock etc from the app on the phone. WaveSecure will issue out the commands via http so there is no text charges.

Thanks,
cheewee
