For all you WaveSecure fans out there today's your lucky day. The WaveSecure team is offering a free lifetime subscription to anybody who downloads the app from their website BEFORE March 31, 2010.
I just downloaded it and registered without any issues, and OMG this program is pretty solid.
I also tried out the locate feature and it did a good job locating my phone, with in about 20 meters.

So here's the link folks....enjoy

Ok, you mean "download" to the PC? Or "install the app to your Droid from the "market app?" (...just wondering: I need the "whatever" you download on my Phone, not on the PC, but then again being a newbie, there maybe something I don't know...)

TIA

U just download the file on your PC and transfer it to your Droid. Or use your droid to download the file and install it that way.
Either way works

I am going to try it.
FYI the sms verification comes from Singapore.
>from the website:
IMPORTANT: Our SMS gateway is in Singapore. Depending on your carrier/operator,
you may be charged for receiving international text messages when executing remote instructions.

The location of the gateway was beaten to death in December. Don't worry about it. They are cool, actually members of this site.

lol first it was "Download before January 31st for lifetime subscription!!", then it was "before February 31st!!", and now its "Download before March 31st!!" lol. If this keeps going on itll be available for free DL for a long time.

Solid program tho, had it since December 09 and its great.

Good business plan though.... What is the point of having a great app that no one knows about it? But if they get a lot of people to use it... then we'll pass the word out to everyone.. :)

great program but they only thing i dont get is the "lock down" option. I mean why would i press the lock down option if i stole it? The option activate the alarm and locks the phone.

Well if u stole the phone u wouldn't, but if ur phone was stolen u could send a text to ur phone and lock it up. Which would make ur phone useless until u unlocked it.

I understand the lock down feature via sms but I guess i should rephrase my question. There is an option in the app itself to manually lock down the phone, why would i want to press it if i was the thief or why would i press it in general? Unless i want to attract attention to myself.

Well lets say u had to go into a secure facility (government building, ect) and u had to leave ur phone behind, u could lock it so a nosy security gaurd wasn't making calls. Or any number of situations where u needed to securely lock ur phone so somebody doesn't play with it.

This is awesome. I have both WaveSecure and Mobile Defense installed. Only downside I've found so far, you can't activate or use your Google Voice number with it. I actually called VZW to unblock texting just for these two great apps. 20 cents for peace of mind is well worth it IMHO.

Hello, gee and I thought I was the only one in the world w/o 'texting' :)... I don't have it in my plan either.

Is that what a text message cost, about?: 20 cents?

Yeah, I have both apps installed as well... I'd like to run a test, or hear from someone who has... so we don't have to find out HOW, the day that it may happen. They probably have the details somewhere in their website..

Thanks

No, you're not the only one. But from the looks of your photo you might be the youngest. :) Since the lowest price for text messages is $5 per month, as long as I don't send/receive more than 24 text messages a month, I'm saving money.

Edit: I've tested both apps. They work. I have both as well. I'm a belt and suspenders kinda guy.
