Wanting to try out ROM's on Froyo

Hello,
I am new to this whole rooting thing and I have already rooted my Motorola Droid 1 and it is running STOCK Android 2.2 (Froyo). How do I get a ROM such as Ultimate Droid 1.0.0 onto the phone? I already have backed up my apps and contacts with Astro. Can anyone give me a tutorial or walk me through on how to do this since I have 2.2 and not 2.0 or 2.1?

Thanks,

If you are already rooted you should.......

1) Download ROM Manager (Free) from the market.
2) Go into ROM Manager and "flash clockwork mod recovery"
3) Make a backup of your current ROM with ROM Manager.
4) This is up to you, but I prefer to download the ROM I want from my computer and place it on the root of the SD Card on your Droid. Or you can just download the ROM from ROM Manager. I like to wipe the phone three times before I install a new ROM which is why I like to do it manually.
5) If you do it the way I prefer you should boot into recovery by holding x when powering up. Like I said before, wipe everything three times.
6) Then choose install from sd card and navigate to your .zip file on the root of the sd card and select it.
7) The ROM should install and you will just need to reboot. You should be set after that.

Hope this helps.
