The newest retailer to start offering a Nexus 7 32GB at $249.99 is Wal-Mart. Not only that, but they also dropped the price of their 16GB version to $199.99. This seems to confirm that Google was planning to launch the new 32GB version of the Nexus 7 at their big press event today. Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy ruined those plans, but it seems the retailers were allowed to go ahead with the new retail pricing model.

For about a week now, most retailers, and the Google Play Store have not had the 8GB version of the Nexus 7 tablet to sell. It's still listed on the Play Store as "coming soon," but so is the 16GB model, leaving the fate of the 8GB model in limbo. In the mean-time, here are some links to the WalMart website, in case you want to check it out:

Gee, i'll have to head over to Walmart and get 'em to refund me $50 to price match their own pricing for the 16GB model, since I just picked one up yesterday.

Why would you pick one up at the old pricing 2 days ago when there were rumors for weeks about the price drop?

Because I wanted it in case the power went out during the storm, and I knew Walmart does price matching.

Plus, I don't always believe rumors, and sometimes if you wait; you end up waiting forever.
