Volume stuck at mute

Hi,

I have a HTC One S running on Android 4.1.1
I recently found out that I cannot change my ringing volume. When I press the side-buttons that alter the volume, it stays stuck at muted.
I can change it trough the settings-sounds menu, but when I close this menu the volume is back to muted.

Anyone has an idea?
