video formatting for droid x2

hi, i was wondering if anyone had any answers as to how i should be converting my videos for my dx2. i tried a couple mp4's the other day that were 720p and they wouldnt play, i suspect since the resolution was higher than the display. would anybody know what settings i should be converting my files too? as in video and audio bitrate, resolution, fps, etc.

thanks in advance for any help and i apologize if this is in the wrong forum. im new to this

All I can say is this: I have over 50 movies converted for my Fascinate, at it's native res (max 480x800) with 2125kb video bit rate, and 160kb audio bit rate @ 4,800hz MP4.

I tried installing some of these on my friends Droid X, and it couldn't sync the audio/video at all. So my answer is: lower than what I specified for the Fascinate, which runs them beautifully.

Experiment with a 1500kb video and go down from there (leave the audio @ 160) that's the best advice I can give - or to get a better multimedia phone. I was rather disgusted I couldn't share my conversions on my friend's Droid X.

thanks for the response. i think i'll try creating some vids with the specifications you showed with the hope that maybe the x2 can handle it. if anything, i'll go down to about 1500 like you said. what software do you use to convert? i read before about handbrake on this or another forum before. any suggestions in that department?
