Video camera issue

So, just got my eris today, loving it so far, much better than my old 'smart' phone (samsung delve) but I've run into one issue.

Whenever I try and take a video of something, the phone just closes the camera completely. No prompts or anything.

Still camera works fine.

Any ideas? I went through about 10 pages on the forums and couldn't seem to find anything, and google wasn't much more of a help.
