I am new to this rooting stuff so please be understanding. I am learning.

So I just rooted my Thunderbolt and was installing all my goodies and went to the software upgrade menu to upgrade the Verizon software. It downloaded fine but froze up after trying to install.

I had to clear the cache and then cancel the upgrade to stop from the auto reboot.

Once we root the phone are we supposed to continue with the Verizon upgrades? I assumed we should. Please help.

Don't use the Verizon ota software anymore. Look for the newest RUU for ROOTED users and flash that if you want a stock ROM. If you rooted with revolutionary so you wouldn't lose data and kept the Verizon stock ROM, you'll have to freeze or rename the otacerts file to reject the future Verizon ota updates that will continue trying to update/install.
