Update: It's pushing out now. We are speaking with folks who are receiving the update right now (roughly 2PM Central Time).

Verizon will be starting an Android 4.4.2 KitKat soak test for the Moto X very soon. We aren't sure exactly when, but the internal developers are putting the finishing touches on this phase of testing and need to move to the soak test, probably within a few days. The soak test invites started going out last night.

The update is Android 4.4.2 as expected, build 164.55.2. Besides the obvious improvements brought on from the new version of Android, here are a few other changes,
  • Improved phone dialer application performance
  • Improved synchronization of email attachments
  • Enhanced on -device security
  • Improved connectivity when roaming
  • Battery life improved
  • Isis Mobile Wallet enhancements
We'll let you know when the soak test begins, and/or when the update starts pushing out OTA.
