When you dial through Google voice you actually get a call back from a Google voice phone server that connects you to the number you dialed after you pick up. It should be listed on your bill as an incoming call. I use Google voice a lot but never really looked at what's on the bill... i've gone paperless billing years ago..
There is a reason for that. When google voice first came out the advertised free calls through them. If you had vzw or a carrier where you could get 5 numbers for free no matter how much you called. You simply set one number you incoming gv number and another your out going. Give everyowyour gv number and when you made a call use the outgoing gv number and you could rack up a lot of minutes basically for free...or at the minimum cost (cost of friends and family like plan). Carriers put pressure on google to stop that so an update was sent out that constantly changed the outgoing number on each call made.
