I'll roll with it. I'm not tech savvy, so unless there is a big issue, no FDR for me.

The day has finally arrived! Verizon has vetted Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and has begun rolling it out! The update is software version VRU2CPD1 and Android build MMB29M.

Of course, we have several of the usual goodies from Marshmallow and from Verizon with this update including:
  • Doze
  • Google Now on Tap
  • WiFi Calling
  • Improved application permission controls
  • Enhanced TouchWiz skin with new icons
  • Ultra High Quality Audio

Thanks for sharing this first here, @Miklb58!

Downloading now ... I'll likely run with the OTA for a few days and see how its doing. I'll very likely do a FDR since it is a major upgrade.

Question: (Just did the update.) Why is my SD card in my notification window, and why can't I make it go away?

Making it go away should be as simple as sweeping the notification away in the dropdown status bar. I believe it worked that way on my Turbo 2 at least.

I think that's Marshmallow's way of letting you know that it recognized the card and was setting it up as External Storage, which is the default option with Marshmallow. You have the option to switch it to Internal Storage if you want, but it stays setup as External by default.

If memory serves, switch it to being viewed as Internal means you have to format it to do so. Just a heads up to anyone getting this update and not aware. It should warn you itself, but can't be too careful.

I just did a dumb thing - told it to install and then came here to see if anyone had trouble! It is still doing its thing so I have nothing to add yet.

So, do you still have to have a sim to use VoWiFi? If not, could make the Note 4 more than just a backup...
