V Cast Media Manager document transfer

2 questions:

How do I back up my Droid X to my computer?


Also, If I want to transfer documents from my computer to my droid x, where do they show up on my phone. Do I need an SD card or something? Do I need some sort of document folder app? I can't figure it out.
