Using imac airport to use as a wireless router to droid

I have a droid 2 and I heard that you can use your imac to become a wireless router/hub and I can connect it, but my phone doesn't seem to be connecting and disconnects before even connecting.
Is there a compatablity issue with the droid and the mac?
