USB conection issue

Received Droid X2 today, when I try to connect it to my computer to transfer pictures and music, nothing happens. My computer won't recognize the Droid and the phone itself keeps repeating "Droid" over and over again while a "Connecting USB for USB Mass Storage" message repeatedly blinks on my home screen. I was really hoping for a convenient set-up.

You need the drivers.

Here is the proprietary software from Moto:

Try RSDLite5.3.1_5.1Drivers.rar
Or maybe just try the ones available from the Android SDK.

Thanks, that worked. Unfortunately, I think my problem is the USB port itself, the cord is loose in the socket and won't stay connected (which explains why the message kept blinking).
