US DROID USE in EUROPE

I understand my DROID will not work in Europe (Germany/ Austria) but seems that parts of it SHOULD work. Will any of these function? GPS, WiFi, downloaded apps such as Reading books, play games, view contacts, camera, calculator, German/English dictionary Currency Exchange (Yahoo), worldwide time, world walker, I travel free. Can someone clarify this for me?

Or must I go without it!!!!!!!!!

As for app, it depends on whether they rely on data from the carrier's network so you'll have to look into them. They should be fine with WiFi coverage though. You can clarify for yourself by switching to airplane mode and then enabling WiFi.

Not sure on GPS. GPS on the Droid is assisted (and, IIRC, it can't fall back to standalone mode) so I'm not sure how well it will work without network coverage. Again, you can clarify for yourself.
