Update notification

I keep getting notifications from the market that I have an update but when I go into my apps it doesn't show any that have an update available...will that market fixer apk that I have tucked away on my sd card somewhere fix this problem? Cant remember exactly what it was for...

Just to let you know you're not the only one because it happens to me also. Hope there's a fix for it soon.

Same thing on mine. If I go into Market and look at My Apps, it gives me lists of Installed and Not Installed apps. If I look at my son's bionic, he has the same thing, but on the right on his it has the familiar green characters that say Installed or Update Available beside each app, with the rating stars. Mine is blank in this area.

Me too, its gotta be something with either gingerbread or the new market update, I never had this issue with froyo

That's the way mine looks too - but I do get updates. They show up as another category at the top, just like Honeycomb market does on my Xoom. And I do get an icon in the notification bar telling me I have updates.

I dk. I had the new market and gingerbread on my Droid X before I got the Bionic and it was never an issue. Who knows...

+1...

Yea I am having the exact same problem. And I went into every single App i have and allowed automatic updating. Still same issue and nothing updates on its own.

My updates were on the voice search app and on the youtube app. Neither one was listed in the "my apps" section of the market, however they both came preinstalled on the phone. I uninstalled them both, then reinstalled. Now they show up in my apps.

Well, maybe that's my problem too. So how are you supposed to figure out what is asking for an update if it is not something you have installed since you got the phone?

I just noticed that the voice search app and youtube were on my phone but not listed in the "my apps" section of the market. So I just searched for the two apps in the market and saw that they both said update beside them. I uninstalled them both, then re-installed and now the show up in "my apps" and the update feature fucnctions as normal.

I'll add my name to the list of folks that get notifications, no updates actually occur and I no longer have the "installed" indications on each row of "My Apps".

Any new ideas?

Go to the market and search for "voice search" and see if it says installed or update

Hey Brandon - I searched for Voice Search in the Market. The app was found and it said "update", so I updated it.

What is the significance of that app in particular?

It comes preloaded on the phone so for some reason it is not listed in the my apps section..but it is still considered installed from the market. Same with youtube. After you updated it should now be listed in my apps and update as normal from now on. Check youtube while you're at it.
