[UPDATE] Android Market v2.2.6 Released

anyone else getting fc's each and everytime they try and interact with the new market?
it installed fine for me, but I can't open anything in the app itself with out fc's
any ideas?

For those of you getting force close problems or "Application Not Installed" programs, or "The specified activity cannot be launched." Here is what I have found that works.

First of all, DO NOT go in and replace Vending.apk with the new one. It won't work. At all.

Go into system/app with Root Explorer (sorry you have to have root to do this), and rename Vending.apk to something like Vending.apk.backup (this way you can go back to the old version if you want to). Now go to the new downloaded Vending.apk (New Market App), install it like a normal app.. it will sit there for a minute and then it will say that it installed successfully. You might need to reboot your phone after installing.

The Market works great until I try and update/install an app. I receive a "Not enough available space available to install". I have Not tried renaming the vending.apk, I just uninstalled the update. I'm running UD DX RC2 and did not download the market update from this forum. Anyone else have this issue?

UD DROIDX using DroidForums App

for the people who says it doesn't install - use root explorer and replace the other vending.apk, then change the permissions. reboot the phone then go back to the apk, it'll install fine.

on that note, fc city for me, and i'm running miui. i also noticed that it didn't fill out right when i first installed. going to go back to the old market until a fix comes out

My biggest complaint...apps that I uninstalled via the Market and reinstalled manually to avoid update nags (Shazam for example) are all back...in all their nagging glory. :(

You can use Titanium to break Market links and stop the nags, too.

I put it into an update.zip install pack and it installed and is working fine on both BBv05 and UDv2.4.... so not sure why it's being said to not work???

Been there, done that on saph, will not install, period.

If one replaces vending, it will work and initialize, but then FC city.
