Upcoming LG 4G Android Device [Rumor]

Yeah that was another thing that caught my interest too. Next year is looking pretty good for android phones.

waiting til the beginning of next year doesn't seem so bad provided we have a 'vanilla' device to choose from :)

only thing though... announcements for these devices is scheduled/rumored for the beginning of the year... when do you think we'll actually see them for sale?

I am HOPING late January best case.

But, I bet March.....
I can't wait til March... i'm far too impatient.

I'll be on T-mobile by then.... well possibly. Don't hold me to that :)

Yeah, I'll be upset if March. But this must be an LTE device, right? If so, would we see any before March?

And if Verizon has the iPhone in January, I am still thinking there will be a negotiated "buffer" before and after it is released with all other Android (and other OS) phones.

Since the DINC HD bombed, I had to do something with my original droid. changed ROM's to one I really like and over clocked to 1.1 GHz with a great Slayher kernel and battery life is excellent! This will at least keep me interested until CES before I start to get REALLY antsy again... I am no longer n the DINC HD bandwagon--even if it has dual core. I know the new Sense is supposed to be great, but if this LG hits Verizon? I'd take it in a heartbeat. Vanilla > Everything else. Plus, I really like LG. I had a Dare and it was nice (for what it was suppose to be). I thought it was a very solid phone. Although not everyone like the Ally? But that is really old now and the new Optimus apparently is a big hit--in fact, I heard this New Dual Core LG "Star" is part of the Optimus line???

... i'm with ya, the 'vanilla' Android has put the idea of the DInc HD for me out the window. I can't justify a Sense overlayed Android OS vs. a 'vanilla' experience :)

but that's my personal preference. YMV

LTE capable devices is nice, but not a must for me. I won't even be able to take advantage of it until who knows when... my guess is at least another year for the Western part of Mass, and by then I'll be due for another upgrade :)

I'm pretty sure this LG would be LTE? Especially because it has a Front Camera? I'm pretty sure all the Dual Cores will be LTE, make sense?

Yea I can't see any of the dual-cores not being LTE.... it's all about speed, speed of the device, speed of the network. I'd think they'd go hand in hand :)

just speculating however...

I love Android and Me blog -- they always have the most info for some reason:

LG Star with Tegra 2 coming in early 2011 to T-Mobile 4G? – Android and Me)

Interesting (and dissapointing for me if true):

"Early renders of the device indicated it was headed for Verizon and would support 4G LTE, but our sources tell us those pics were just mock-ups and Verizon has not actually picked up the device yet. Believe it or not, we are hearing the LG Star will land on T-Mobile with HSPA+ support in mid Q1 2011."

Maybe Miami can come through with some pics and specs for us....or maybe not!

Lets not go down that road again. There are pics right there. Not much else you're going to get aside from where the buttons are placed and where the ports are. Looks like this either has glowing buttons or green buttons...cant tell. What I do know is that the last solid device I have seen LG produce was the Dare. So anything by them makes me a tad nervous...

Sexy phone though. Now...how do I get myself to be free for an upgrade in 3 months after just signing a contract...still got my 30 days...

I have question regarding to LG Star.. LG star is google brand and will get update first like nexus one and nexus S correct ?

if so im thinking abt getting star instead of inc hd if it come to verizon

Wrong. The D1 was a stock android phone. And the wait for updates was not short. The nexus is what's known as a developer phone. It will always have the most current update first. The other manufacturers are in charge of ensuring Google's base code works well with their hardware. Its not a simple drag and drop process.
