Unwanted Screen items

Day 4 of using my Motorola Droid and I have a shortcut for dialing a friend on my desktop that I can't get rid of and I've hit that icon by mistake 3 or 4 times. How do I uninstall that.

I also have a "selected playlist is empty" icon on my desktop which I also want to get rid of.

Appreciate the help.

Drag to the bottom of the screen. The tray icon will become a trashcan.

Hold your finger on the icon until the little arrow on the tab at the bottom of the screen becomes a trash can...then simply drag it to the trash can and let it go.

I have the same issue. I got it to move the first time I tried it but it didn't delete and now it won't move.

Nevermind - I tried it again, this time I selected the message properly and was able to drag and delete it. Thanks for the help!
