unrooting

ok so my original Droid took a swim in the hottub & was done!
so I purchased one on Craig's list. everything is great except it has this app called superuser permissions. I did a little reading but am still confused! what is rooting? since the phone came to me rooted, am i outta luck? is my information at risk somehow? can someone please help me get rid of this? and please, I'm not the most technologically savvy, so keep that in mind for any responses! any help is appreciated as this whole scenario has me nervous! thanks!

Start by reading that. What you'll come to understand is that rooting isnt a positive or a negative, it's simply a choice. If you dont want it anymore, we can help you get rid of it, but it really doesnt make a difference.

Your information is not at risk simply because you're rooted.
