Unrooted 2.1 but how to remove SPR for 2.2 update

I had a rooted 2.1 Droid with bugless beast. I am getting a Droid X and want to put the Droid back to stock so I can sell it to a friend. I did manage to reload 2.1 but SPR is still installed. This morning I had a message that the 2.2 update was available so I hit the option to install it. The phone rebooted and SPR menu came up. I hit reboot and nothing updated.

I have searched and I think SPR is blocking the update. How do you remove SPR and get back to totally stock so the 2.2 update will install?

Thanks,
Gary

The link a couple of posts up will tell you what you need to know to get the new froyo. Once you get back to stock and manually install 2.1 you should be prompted to install the new froyo.
