Instructions on install:
"I" SBF'd to do this you dont have to but...
Be on Gingerbread Kernal and 2nd-init
Boot into CWM
MAKE A NANDROID
Wipe data & Dalvik
Flash ROM
flash Gapps
reboot​

I currently have CM9 from 13th angel installed, if i nandroid backup, wipe data, reset, and dalvik and then install this, will it work properly? or do i have to so things differently to get this on my phone?

If you want the latest Aokp go here http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-roms/205184-aokp-build-38-droid-x-unofficial-6-5-a.html 38.1 is the latest build so flash that and gapps
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip yeah since your on cm9 you can flash this no problem just wipe data and cache partition and flash aokp followed by gapps and you'll be good to go. No need to wipe dalvik. And yes you can make a nandroid backup of cm9 if ya want before flashing aokp.

Yes i saw 13th angels latest build but it looks/ or sounds more buggy than yours? Its listed that sms still doesnt natively work and that it has the same bugs as CM9. so is
the 6/5 release still my best bet? or i see yo also have a beta?

Yes 38.1 aokp build is much further along than this rom, as a matter of fact there hasn't been any updates to this in a couple months so i doubt you'll get any support here. Not sure why the devs stopped working on this but it is what it is for now. Go with angels aokp 38.1 it's a great rom. You can go thru the link i posted to get up to date info on it.

Ya it sucks but I'm going to try to get a new d2.
