Ultra Fast Charge?

The other day my battery was down to 70%. I plugged in my Droid to my car charger and started up GPS & Navigation. I left the phone on to look at the directions for about 5 minutes. After that I turned the screen off for maybe 2 minutes. When I turned the phone back on it said it was fully charged. Checked in About Phone --> Status and it said 100% charge also.

Is this possible? Usually it takes about 10 minutes to get 10% charge back, and that's with GPS and the screen off. Just seems kind of weird. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Could have been a software bug. Meaning your phone wasn't really at 70% when you plugged it in, or it wasn't really at 100% when you took it off. I've had times where my phone reads something like 60%, then all of sudden its 10% and I'm getting a critical battery warning, but as soon as I plug it in, its back to 60%.
