UD v8.0 and Bluetooth Voice Dialing

I finally needed to go on the road and needed my Bluetooth voice dialing and realized that it's not working on UDv8 for me (bluetooth is working but have to press the Droid manually like on Android 2.1)...... anyone else having that issue?

This is a clean reinstall of UDv8 after a complete wipe. I didn't get a chance to use it on the install of v8 over UDv7.....
I did a clean wipe and reinstall because I wanted to customize the UDv8 ROM with my own theme and also port in gflam's transparent dialer and contacts APKs.
I know it's not caused by my custom theme since I have had it on every Froyo ROM I've used and had no issues with Bluetooth voice dialing...and I also know it has nothing to do with gflam's transparent APKs'...

Anyone else have this issue?

Mine works fine. Now when I say fine, I mean (cause this bluetooth thing is new to me. I just bought the s305 3 days ago) on my phone I hit the "Voice" shortcut I made and then I can say what I want to do. "Call Luke Mobile" and the phone says Do you want to call Luke Mobile? I say yes and it calls.

CK posted a patch that BlackDroid posted already HERE... but interesting what you say you've done... cheers...

EDIT:
Alrighty... the patch from BlackDroid that CK linked to fixed it perfectly.... just FYI for anyone else who didn't catch that in the UDv8.0 thread.

@xkape ... I like how you were doing yours, ...however... the whole point I prefer about bluetooth is so that I don't have to touch my Droid at all.... I have the bluetooth paired to my Droid, I get in my truck and put my bluetooth on, it auto connects to my Droid without me having to touch my Droid at all, and I just tap my bluetooth earset and do everything by voice from there on.... I hated that I had to manually press bottuns on the Droid when using bluetooth on android 2.1 and before... it defeated the whole purpose in my opinion....

Mbk.. What I am doing is just what I thought would be the least painful as a workaround. I didn't even know "complete" nonuse of the D1 was possible. Are you saying that if I download and install that patch, I won't have to touch the D1 at all? Hell I even have to pair the stupid thing every time by going into the settings and clicking on search for devices.

Maybe it's my headset too though. I listen to the radio on it on my way to work and such so I bought one of the stereo headsets. Motorola S305. On the right ear I have all my options. Push up to answer a call, push back to go a song back, forward for song forward, down for play/pause. ANd then some volume buttons on the top.

I have a Jabra BT8010 and it only needs to paired once, and it also has all of those settings and tabs..... but one of the main things that Android 2.2 brought to the table for me was the complete hands-free voice dialing thru bluetooth... and that is what all Froyo ROMs have, not sure why UDv8.0 had a voicedialer APK that lost that capability...

but yes, that patch from Blackdroid re-enables the hands-free voice dialing by installing a new voicedialer APK..... the one intended for Froyo

I know what I will be doing tomorrow when midnight again becomes far far away :)

Hell yes!

My problem is, once I start a project, I won't stop until it's done. So, updating that would also require me to go out to my car, get the headset and try it out. Relearn how to use it and what does what. If there were issues, I'd try to fix those as well until it was perfect.

Next thing you know, it's 3am and I have to get up at 7am when my kids do. Then I get to spend all day waiting for bedtime cause I'm spent..lol

I just discovered that BDs voicedial patch seems to have a side effect. It seem to screw up the mic for speakerphone. It has very low volume. Just did a restore to before the patch and it's fine. Anyone else?

I don't have that issue, but I reloaded a nandroid of UDv8.0 after tinkering with stagefright disabling...and I just pushed the VoiceDialer.APK from BD's patch manually back to my Droid and fixed permissions...so not sure if the patch is causing it or the APK.
I didn't try speakerphone when I initially installed the patch via BD's update.zip file the first time before I Nadroided back... so can't tell ya.

Ya know, you don't have to wipe and start over just to theme your ROM. You can use 7zip to patch the update.zip file with your mods, then install it all in one take.

Well if you read my post more thoroughly you'd have known that my first install was UDv8 'over' UDv7 without wiping..... but since I wanted to customize several things to my own liking, I decided to do a complete 'wipe' and reinstall along with those customizations, a completely new and 'clean' reinstall since I planned to customize..... and this was all done to the UDv8 ROM itself, thus it was basically 'all in one take', to paraphrase you...
THUS, if I ever decide I'd like to install it from scratch again, I'd have the customized UD ROM already.... you follow?? ;)
