You using the volume rocker while at home screen or in camera mode? Should be home..

Yes to both. When I press the volume button down, it shows on the screen as already silent. I press it a few times anyway to make sure.

Just turn your ringer volume to silent or vibrate. That'll silence the camera noises too.

If you root your droid you can rename/delete the audio files and disable the shutter sound, but I'm still looking for the focus beep-beep sound.

Works fine with me in 2.0.1 when either changing the volume to vibrate or lower at either the Home screen or in the camera...
