At some point I think the DT will be getting 5.0, it is offered on my Nexus 7 today. Does anybody have any experience with it?

IMHO - new is not always better.

I absolutely agree. I always wait at least a month before updating to the latest OS version. There are ALWAYS issues that pop up regardless of what device your on and I hate being the guinea pig.
That, and I honestly don't see anything that is a "must have" with Lollipop.
Just my 2 cents.

Just heard from a buddy who updated his Nexus 7 - he's not thrilled with it.

ETA - just turned the wi-fi off on the 7 - update proof now -

I'll wait also, this dang thing is absolutely rocking, don't need any bugs. 5.1 will work for me. Unless it goes smoothly.

We must...We must...increase our boost

Agreed - I am 100% happy with the DT as is...

ETA - made a call from the USA east coast to the Philippines - excellent call quality - I don't need no stinkin' update.

Let's see who can hold out the longest. Took me a week to download the out of the box update.

I loved Lollipop on my Nexus 7 but a lot of apps weren't ready for it yet so I had to go back.

They've already confirmed all 2013/2014 Motorola devices will get Lollipop.

I didn't know that was possible - easy to do?

Depends on your comfort level and what you define as easy. It is just a matter of unlocking the bootloader and flashing the previous factory image. You can use something like Wug's Toolkit to make it easy. Or have Android SDK set up.

Thanks Garemlin - that is above my "comfort level".

It really isn't as hard as it sounds. Now messing with Android SDK and adb/fastboot commands can get a little tricky because you need to be exact. But as I said using something like Wug's Toolkit makes it as easy as clicking some buttons. Not much to go wrong at all.

Take a quick read here: Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit

Wife updated her Nexus 7 yesterday. Less then thrilled with results. Slow and sluggish now, needs update to fix update!

That is not good news. Been waiting anxiously for my N7 to update since the announcement last week. Not so much now.

Don't forget guys, with a significant update like this, it's always advised to do a factory reset afterwards. Save yourself some headaches later down the road. (Regardless of make/model)
Good luck!
