Toshiba Thrive launches, now at Best Buy

Being the typical geek, I enjoy my Holidays by heading to the local Best Buy and having a little one on one time with all the new gadgets. While checking out the slew of Android Tablets on display and feeling sorry for the Blackberry tablet, I noticed a new tab sitting over in the corner. It looked like the thrive, but the rumored day was July 10th so I thought it was probably just a dummy unit. Sure enough it was the real deal Toshiba Thrive 16gb model marked with a $479.99 pricetag! When I asked the salesman if they were available now, he said he had 14 in stock ready to go. So if you've passed on the Transformer, Iconia, Xoom, and Galaxy Tab now's your chance to rush down to your local Best Buy and pick one up!

so i call bb they said they have 16 gig version i asked are they for sale yes no problem come on in get there sorry made a mistake cant sale them until the 10th i went nuts so they gave me a discount card:icon_evil:

Correct me if I am wrong but you are looking to spend nearly $100 more then a transformer and yet you really gain nothing. For the price difference one could almost get the keyboard dock for the transformer to extend battery time and act as a sort of case as well...

Yeah, unless I was going to get maybe the Tab 10.1 there's no way I'd get anything other than the Transformer.
