too many pattern attempts and gmail

I accidentally locked my phone while i was walking around & put my droid razr in my pocket.
Unfortunately, i was in a different country and turned off the network, so there is no 4G connection
but phone connection. I was trying to unlock using my gmail account tho, no success...

How can i unlock my phone without deleting my pictures!!

Please help!!

On older Android software, if you got that msg, you couldn't get into your phone w/o doing a fdr. I haven't even heard of this since 2010, hope you get it working mate.

I did everything I could to recover from it tho, none worked.
So, i factory-reset it. fortunately my pictures weren't deleted.
just need to install some apps.
