Thunderbolt sending same text repeatedly?

I noticed this starting happening yesterday and did not go away. When I'll send a text, the recipient would tell me they received the same text from 2-4 times when I only sent it once I'm like WTF? I know this a major inconvenience so I'm trying to find a fix, has this happened to anyone before?

-I'm not sms bombing anyone
-I've been using the stock SMS app for about a week with no problems (replacement phone)
-Downloaded GOSMS and same problem happened
-Not rooted
-Not sure if this is only specific to one contact or to everyone I text

Haven't seen this at all.....yet.

It was weird because I noticed it only happened when I txted Verizon ppl who had non smartphones.

Called Verizon about it and they told me to
1. Take the battery out and leave it out for 5 minutes
2. Factory reset
3. If none of those worked, they would put in a ticket to investigate the nearby towers

Step 1. Did it for me
