Thunderbolt charging specs

My car charger recently died, and when replacing it, I decided to purchase one that may give me more options. I purchased an enercell 2 port usb car charger. It puts out 5 vdc with a draw of 2.5 amp. Is this compatible with the thunderbolt. Mine works pretty well, and I don't want to fry it.

The max charging draw on the Thunderbolt is 1 amp. Most USB chargers only output about 500 mA. IMO, the best car charger for the Thunderbolt is the Motorola 950 mA mini-USB charger: Amazon.com: Motorola Vehicle Power Adapter micro-USB Rapid Rate Charger: Cell Phones & Accessories . It's very inexpensive, but great quality and charges the TB quickly compared to a regular USB style charger. Plus, it has a neat blue light!
