Throttling?

Ok I've need seeing data throttling in a few forums and am just wondering what does it do?

Moving to Droid Tech issues. This is not specific to the X.

I know throttling means slowing down the 3G network, I don't think it really happens, but I'll let someone else explaing the rest.

If your on Verizon they throttle on their end and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Only gsm does throttling phone side if im not mistaken.
