thinking of rooting

I thought about the update issue after I posted. and whats wrong with easy root other then the update issue?

It might work but the Rescue Squad here deals with more cases of people losing root access after using easy root, it is better to root using the SBF it's a fail safe method

I have always used the sbf method. Never fails as long as you do everything right...plus there is something very satisfying about doing it the old fashioned way. Kind of like changing the oil in your car at home.

so what happens when you lose root? And if its nothing bad (where i can just restore to factory) i will wait till it happens. But so far, i havent had any issues.

When you lose root from this process, you still have the SuperUser Ninja/Pirate but access is not there, and you cannot get rid of the SU icon, the only way to fix this is to flash the SBF back to stock and then root with the SBF method, a lot of time would be saved to do it the right way the first time

Depends.. If I installed a custom ROM and theme and made custom changes to my apps and then lost root I would not be happy.

If all I did was root the phone and never did anything that let me see the benefits then I really wouldn't care about losing root.

If you ever want to take the phone to Verizon for service issues though, you are going to have to get rid of the SU app though.

I do have custom roms and what not, but as long as I can flash it back to factory I wont be too mad. maybe a little annoyed, but as long as its not bricked then thats fine.
