MyColorScreen is a well known web site that compiles home screen setups and directs users on how to set up featured home screens on their own devices. Many times this means rounding up different apps, downloading them, and then setting them up. This also means that some of the featured home screen setups would not work on all devices since some of the required apps wouldn't work for all devices and screen sizes. They have released their solution, the themer app. When "Themer" began the beta process a few weeks ago the line was crazy long to get in. When I signed up I had 140,000 people ahead of me. I finally got a code after about a week of waiting.

Themer is no longer closed beta and is now open beta. This means you can head to themerapp.com and grab your code now. No more waiting. Themer is a home screen replacement app. This will replace the look and feel of your whole device. Check out the link above to begin themeing your device now.

Awesome app, but proceed with caution. I spent hours setting up the other day only to restart my phone & lose my entire Homescreen setup.

According to their forum, many people have encountered the issue.

I like it but at the same time feel like they are giving you a ton of advertisements. Each theme has a set of folders with categories. If you touch one, it shows apps that you don't have installed. Touch it and it takes you to the play store page to download said app. Its a bunch of bloatware shortcuts. Sure you can delete them, but I don't like that none the less. Also the permissions are rather extensive on the app. I get it does access a lot of stuff for good reason, but still...far too much access for me.

I played around with it for a while today, good idea but for me it seems that unless you're going to create your own theme it doesn't give enough options (e.g. I like several of the themes but you can't change small things like background or text colors, you also can't use icon-packs to theme your app drawer). I don't have the time to create a theme or edit one (provided that's an option) so it's back to Nova for now. It's got potential though and I'll keep an eye out for future updates.

Note:
though I understand it's a home-screen replacement they should consider doing something for the lock-screen to keep the 'theme' consistent.

Yeah, I spent hours editing the theme I ended up losing. Probably more than I'd rooted, installed & themed a custom ROM. I was seriously proud of it, but after losing it, I'm not so sure it was worth the time.
