It is a bitter and sad day for the world of D1. Cyanogenmod...the lovely rom many have come to rely on as the standard replacement for our no longer OEM loved phone will no longer be getting official support from the Cyanogen team. Its coming straight from the top, officially official. In what was an exciting CM9 (ICS) update, the situation turned upside down with this little sentence, "And sorry Droid1 owners, we’re dropping support for you. Time to upgrade
It may take time to heal this wound in our hearts, please know that im here for all of you. First click here I realize this can be a rough time. Now, what I can tell all of you in a slight maybe is if Cyanogen does get the monster 8gb of source trimmed and compiled inside of the Nexus 1 like they hope then their still is a possibility that the D1 will see some ICS. The difference between this and just some other rom dropping support is the fact that many other developers base a lot of their work off of cyanogen. Their are many ASOP roms out their as well but its definitely going to get very lonely around here without this highly influential team. If they cant do it, who will?
