The D1 is no longer supported by Cyanogenmod.

It is a bitter and sad day for the world of D1. Cyanogenmod...the lovely rom many have come to rely on as the standard replacement for our no longer OEM loved phone will no longer be getting official support from the Cyanogen team. Its coming straight from the top, officially official. In what was an exciting CM9 (ICS) update, the situation turned upside down with this little sentence, "And sorry Droid1 owners, we’re dropping support for you. Time to upgrade

."

It may take time to heal this wound in our hearts, please know that im here for all of you. First click here I realize this can be a rough time. Now, what I can tell all of you in a slight maybe is if Cyanogen does get the monster 8gb of source trimmed and compiled inside of the Nexus 1 like they hope then their still is a possibility that the D1 will see some ICS. The difference between this and just some other rom dropping support is the fact that many other developers base a lot of their work off of cyanogen. Their are many ASOP roms out their as well but its definitely going to get very lonely around here without this highly influential team. If they cant do it, who will?

Wow... When CM7 drops you, ya know you're on the way out... o.O :P
I bet they will continue to tweak CM7 for a little while. But yes, once that gets a bit old its going to be a heart breaker to just set down. Super depressing. My day sucks now. :frown: No ICS love for the D1....mah... I feel like I need to sulk like I just broke up with a hot girl friend.

So what's the phone with the most developers support now? Will it be the Verizon galaxy? I loved all the awesome roms and tibu for my droid. Not sure where to go from here

Come on guys, this can't be a shock. CM7 barely runs on the OG.

Time to embrace the Nexus...if it ever comes...

yeah this isn't exactly shocking news. I didn't have much luck running ANY GB roms on the OG, the hardware just could not keep up w/ the demands. Froyo was the last version that really ran well on the D1.

It was inevitable. The D1 doesn't have the ram capable of running ICS, regardless of the size of the source. It barely has enough memory to run 2.3. We all knew this day was coming, we just never said it out loud.

And of course, MIUI will follow, Peter Alfonso based roms, etc.

My Droid will still be used, as a very handy media player with wifi streaming support.

The D1 launched over 2 years ago....time to upgrade indeed. Most of us at this point are just waiting for the Nexus.

I've actually been waiting to upgrade for over a year, as the inevitable ram issue began giving me serious problems at that point.

I love my d1, but im done with physical keyboards. I never use it. My hands are too big. Nexus, please dont suck when released!

It is not surprising that its not supported, kinda like an old person realizing they have to retire because they can't keep up. I can wait for nexus, I was just hoping to get another update out of the D1 before it went out of comission.

Sent from a bubble gum factory because im all out of gum.
