text notification question...

I am wondering,i noticed that if your in a conversation via text with someone the notification sound doesnt come on....it seems to only come on after the phone screen has timed out or locks itself...is there a way to change that?

you could try another 3rd party app, i recommend chompSMS or Handcent. I believe those make a sound if you're in the middle of a text, but since you're already looking at the phone do you really need a sound to be notified? =P

I can't recall, but when i used to use Handcent I believe it did give us a sound notification

Thanks for the reply...I'll give that a try...sometimes takes a few minutes for a reply from an text and i get distracted..lol
