Text messages still going to iphone

I got the samsung galaxy 3 the other day and all my text are still going to my iphone that btw does not have a sim card in it..... called att and they told me that it should resolve itself in a few days... is this
normal? How do I get it to start coming to the right phone? Att was of no help.... i dont want to have to carry around 2 phones.... any suggestions would be appreciated.
