Text Messages DUMPED

Two times now my Droid has dumped all my text messages, including ones that are locked. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to prevent or recover these?

Seems to be a recurring problem for some. Are you using Handcent or Chomp? Or are you using the stock messaging app? Most of the reports of this I've seen were related to Handcent and I don't think I've seen a fix or a way to restore the lost messages.

This happened to me yesterday (5/16) for the first time since I got my droid.
Stock app.
ATK was the last app updated. (It is on my phone but I have not used it in months)
