Hello,

I am using connectbot for telnet. Often I cannot enter my login info on my bbs. I cannot get past typing in my user number. Any help?

What do you mean by you cant get past typing in your user number? What happens when you try? I use connectbot and it works fine for me.

Telnet is not secure. Packet sniffers can get transmitted usernames/passwords unless you are over some kind of ssl connection.

Use ssh.

I type my user number and I am not able to "Enter" it. I hit return and nothing happens. I ultimately time out.

Just tried again under my user name: nothing. I tried again using "NEW": nothing. Could it be my settings on connectbot?

could be...what steps are you taking exactly? i was able to connect on my first try. i opened connectbot, selected telnet, for host/port i put bsbbs.com, connected to it, and entered NEW on the login. Didn't go past that point but I was connected fine.

Nothing happens. Then it times out.

I have tried to delete my number after I hit enter/return and I can...

I am going to uninstall it and reinstall it and see how it goes...

Well go figure. Uninstalling and reinstalling it worked. Now the screen font is back to being super small. Oh well.

czerdrill, what bbs do you run or visit? I am new to BBS and am learning about it. I am actually reading the WWIV manual trying to get up to speed. :icon_eek:

Stupid question...but does your enter key work...i really don't know what could be going on there man...if anything you can try uninstalling and reinstalling connectbot...
