TB won't mount on Mac

How do you mount the TB as a hard drive on Mac?

Plug it in via USB, pull down the notification menu and change it from the charge only mode to the disk drive mode.

ok, that worked but there's a message that pops up on mac saying "disk not recognized"

Rtb: mine gave me that same message on my Macbook Pro but when I looked it really had mounted.

That happened to me as well, but it does mount.
