TB for free because of the rebooting problems? Getting then rooting a good option?

Well droid-life published a screenshot of VZW's official website offering an alleged TB giveaway. One would wonder why the heck they would do this to the customers who just paid so much money for it, but then again they'll probably allow them to get a different device if they say that their phones are useless.

At $0, and the alleged bionic at $300, it makes sense (no pun intended) to me to get the TB, root it and work with some of the ROMs from the developer community. I would pay their $1.99/mo warranty anyway and re-stock if the phone gives me problems at any point.

So am I correct that once rooted the rebooting issue goes away? Is that a 100% fact?

More or less. You would have to root and flash the mr2 radio update but it still isnt perfect. I am rooted and running a gingerbread rom with the mr2 radio and I still get reboots in areas with poor 4g signal if I'm using 4g. However if I switch to 3g when in those poor signal areas the reboots completely stop. So yes you can pretty much eliminate the reboots but you need root, the mr2, and to understand where/when its appropriate to use 4g data. At least that has been my experience.

Ya that does look highly unlikely but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If this doesn't pan out I'm just gonna get a Droid incredible 2 till Samsung galaxy s2 is released. That's a phone I would pay 200-300 for lol
