LG And Verizon Wireless Launch Next-Generation Powerhouse, LG G2 Smartphone

Breakthrough Rear-Key Design, Intelligent Features And Powerful Software Make LG G2 The Ultimate Smartphone For Conquering Life’s Everyday Challenges

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Sept. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – LG Electronics USA and Verizon Wireless today announced the official U.S. launch of the LG G2, LG’s latest flagship smartphone as part of LG’s newly branded “G” series of premium devices and the first U.S. smartphone to launch with the new Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 800 processor.

Available through Verizon Wireless beginning on Sept. 12 for $199.99 with a new two-year contract, the LG G2 blends an intuitive rear-key design with intelligent features and powerful software to create an exceptional user experience ideal for taking mobile multi-tasking to the next level.

“The smartphone is our constant companion, our go-to for entertainment, organization, communication and capturing memories,” said James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing, LG Electronics USA. “With the G2, LG has taken into consideration all of these behaviors and used them to create an evolved mobile device that provides tangible user benefits truly designed for how people use their devices.”

The LG G2′s innovative design is a first of its kind. Eliminating the need for multiple navigation buttons, the LG G2 is equipped with a single refined rear key that serves as the command center for power and volume functions. The device’s sleek and super-slim body provides comfortable, one-hand gripping and its near-zero bezel delivers edge-to-edge viewing on an expansive 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display.

Sporting an impressive 13 megapixel Full HD camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), the LG G2 gives users the freedom to capture crystal clear images without having to pause photo-worthy moments already in motion. Powered by the industry’s most advanced mobile chipset, the Qualcomm®Snapdragon™ 800 Processor, the LG G2 goes beyond smartphone standards to deliver stunning performance, rich graphics and outstanding battery efficiency.

An intuitive LG G2 user experience gives consumers a wide selection of optimized software. With the “Knock On” feature, users can bring the LG G2 to life or set it to sleep mode by simply tapping the screen with their fingertip. The “Answer Me” feature automatically answers calls when the LG G2 is raised to one’s ear, reducing the number of missed calls caused by accidentally hitting a wrong button. The “Slide Aside” feature allows for faster, more efficient multi-tasking by giving users the ability seamlessly transition between open apps.

I'm glad to hear the G2 is coming to Big Red! If I stay with Verizon once my contract is up in a few months, this device is definitely in my top 3.

Does anyone know if this device will have wireless charging? Because big red has been trying to boast that lately.

For once in as long as I can remember!

Exactly! I'm stoked I will have several good choices for a phone this year. Hopefully they will get the new Sony and HTC phablets also. I'm going to be spending LOTS of time at Verizon trying these bad boys out. May the best phone win.
