system update crash please help

I have an android 2 global running 2.2.3 and it wont update it gets 1/4 way and crashes and says software install failed. I had it rooted but I reset it to factory default and it still did not help

Data resets don't always remove root properly. You might need to SBF.

MIUI tested, mother approved.
