syncing phone up to computer

I want to transfer some of my music onto my phone but when i plug it into the computer it doesn't do anything. Is there a program I need to install?

also i found from the G1 u must have a usb 2.0 port and drivers the rest is aimple

That way of doing it is very simple, and is going to get you the same results.

On the 2.0 i haven't found an OS that i needed the drivers, i believe they are preloaded on the phone, just as a USB thumb drive is.
