Symbol bar at bottom

Cant get this to close.

has the , ! ? @ _ symbols at the bottom of my home screen. I'm new to Android, so sorry if this is an ancient question.



*EDIT* Now its gone and I have no idea how. Just like a lot of things on this phone that seem to move around on their own. :\

This is not an old Android thing. I think it's a bug with the virtual keyboard not hiding itself properly.

It will probably get corrected in the first update.
