Swype for Incredible??

There is probably a forum out there for this, but I wanted to ask.

Is there anyway to get swype on a droid incredible?

I heard you can only get it by rooting your phone?

What is rooting? And what does it do?

Does this also void the "black tie protection", that I got from Best Buy?

I actually received my Swype beta download today. I signed up for it months ago on the Swype web page. Kind of forgot about it. Been using Slideit keyboard until this arrived. All I can say is Swype is so much better. Much more intuitive, great app...

Swype is officially available only to registered beta users. You can go to their site to sign up for the waiting list. All other methods of getting access to the program are illegal and not condoned by this site.

I got my Swype Beta invite last night and I'm very happy about it. I also signed up months ago and almost gave up on it.

Just went to sign up - claims beta is currently closed, is that true? Signed up anyways, I really want to find a good solution for quickly typing while the phone is in portrait view.
