Day two of usage, I swiped the screen to unlock the screen and the phone shut down. Ok, no big deal, little glitch I thought...and then I couldn't turn it back on. I thought maybe the batter suddenly died, so I put it on the charger...nothing. No matter how many times I pushed the power button, the phone would not turn back on. The next step was to remove the battery. After doing so, the phone turned back on and everything was fine from then on.

I searched back a couple of weeks through the thread titles and didn't see anything referencing this. Anyone else have this problem yet?

I have had the very same thing happened to my Droid 2 Global. I had to remove the battery to be able to revive it. I wouldn't say your phone is defective - it was indeed a software glitch
