Not too long ago we shared that Swiftkey was entering beta testing on their new version of Swiftkey, called Swiftkey Flow. It looks like the developers really did an amazing job integrating Swype-like functionality into their famous Swiftkey app. They just officially introduced a video called "Flow Through Space." The demo is very impressive, showing off that you don't even have to remove your finger from the keypad to type whole sentences. Here's a quote from their video description,

With the SwiftKey Flow beta set for public launch, get a quick peek at SwiftKey's newest keyboard innovation: Flow Through Space. The feature allows users to type whole phrases and sentences without lifting their finger off the screen, simply by gesturing through the space bar after each word.

Of course, we will keep an eye on this and let you know when the company introduces the final product.

Thanks to Briankbl for the tip!

Do you know if current Swiftkey owners will simply be getting an upgrade to this newer product?

I've already purchased the original.

The developers have hinted on their forums that Flow will come as an update to their standard app. No official word yet, though.

I'll tell you what I want... a Shorthand keyboard that senses multiple touches at once, thereby "playing" the words (like a piano or court stenographer), rather than one letter at a time. THAT would be neat! Of course, the learning curve would be long and slow...

There's a specific term for multi touch capable screen devices for things like playing a piano, etc, but I don't remember the term. Anyway I do believe Swiftkey is multi touch capable, whatever the proper term.

Well, the Droid RAZR is multi-touch capable for upto 10 separate finger presses at once. Here's some utilities to show what your device can do;

Check out Keymonk Keyboard in the Play Store. You swipe with two fingers simultaneously!
