Surely a dumb question, but..

Does rooting the Incredible wipe all my data? I watched the 10 minute video and the Astro he had installed on the phone prior to the root was still there afterwards. I had always thought a root to be akin to a reformat but that little bit has me confused I suppose.

It will clear your cache but you sdcard does not get wiped. Anything on the SDCard will still be there.

The SD card I wasn't worried about, it's the internal 8GB. Will that get wiped?

It shouldn't but I don't have a DI here anymore to check that.

If you do it correctly, the data on your phone will not be wiped or altered. However, you should back up any files or data you have on your SD card and probably the internal memory too. My SD card was corrupted as part of doing the root (all the clicking it in and out of the phone is my guess) and had to be reformatted so I lost the data on the SD card.
