Strangest Bluetooth issue with my Incredible

jeffs

I just got my Incredible a week or so ago along with a Bluetooth headset (Plantronics Backbeat 903).

I use this to listen to audiobooks. In the house, everything works perfectly. In the car, everything works perfectly. Once I step outside it skips anytime I walk. If I walk really slow, it works but if I try to walk at even a normal pace, it skips.

Wired headphones work fine.
My wife's Motorola Droid works fine with the same headset.

I could understand a compatibility problem between the phone and the headset but why would it only happen when the unit is outside?

The phone is in a holster on my belt (both indoors and out).
The phone doesn't skip if I hold it in my hand close to the headphones (around shoulder height).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Jeff, Are you seeing ghosts? J/K Can you use some one else Blue Tooth on your HTCI to see if its the cell phone or the Blue Tooth! Remember if your Blue Tooth does skip on wifes Cell its likely Blue Tooth If you use a borrowed Blue Tooth on your cell and it skips its the cell phone!

this happens to me on the droid with the motorola S9-HD. Though its usually in my pocket for me. What i discovered though it most likely arm placement that interrupts the signal. At least that what it seem like to me. As for the solution stop moving your arms. Hey at least your lucky. For some reason, both of the s9-HD mics features are now gone so i can't even talk with my bluetooth headset.

I have this same issue when i ride my bike with the droid incredible and 9 hundred something backbeat. i checked the compatibility and it is fine. i got a new headset and have the same problem but i never had this before the update! and it isnt as bad if i put my phone in my back pack! i dont get it! inside it works fine! inside walking it works fine! in tunnels or near buildings riding my bike it works fine! in my truck no problems! i just dont understand i hope someone found an answer for this problem!
